Career Pathways (formerly called Transitions) is a program offered in Adult Services to young graduates and current MCBDDS enrollees capable of -- and interested in -- future employment opportunities. The program supports Ohio's Employment First initiative.
Career Pathways allows individuals to explore job options, interact with guest speakers about various types of employment, and visit employers onsite. It also includes opportunities to pursue work and volunteer experiences, and teaches the appropriate skills needed to secure employment.
Designed to serve as an intermediate step until individuals are ready for competitive employment opportunities, Career Pathways offers a varied curriculum to help individuals gain skills and experiences and build their confidence in preparation for future employment.
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities offers a publication designed to help individuals determine their goals and next steps with respect to career planning: Employment Path Progression
