The Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services offers numerous opportunities for advocacy within its program structure.
Parents & Advocates Advisory Council (PAAC)
The Parents & Advocates Advisory Council is a group of advocates that meets monthly with the Superintendent of the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 11 a.m., except in July and November, when no meetings are held. All meetings take place at the Ritchey Administration Center, 5450 Salem Avenue, Dayton, 45426.
Voices Matter is a community-based self-advocacy group sponsored by the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services. This group organizes a yearly Self-Advocacy Conference for people with developmental disabilities, and its members speak to groups on disability-related issues.
Voices Matter meets the fourth Thursday of every month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at various locations throughout the community. For information about the group or meetings, call 937-837-9279 or email Voices Matter.
