People First Annual Conference

People First of Ohio has planned an ambitious schedule for their March 19-21 annual conference at the Roberts Convention Center in Wilmington, Ohio, complete with a ‘Survivor Island' search for hidden advocacy treasure chests ... elections for the organization's officers in ‘Advocacy Alley', and several presenters, including special guest speaker Bobby Gurek, who will share information about assistive technology and advocacy.

This year's conference theme, "Let Freedom Ring on Survivor Island," is all about advocates training other advocates, staff, families, and professionals -- including sessions on emergency preparedness, individual rights, guardianship, and many other subjects that have been requested during the past year.
Known for their innovative and straightforward approach to providing information in an interesting and relevant way, the People First staff and officers have planned a solid three-day conference that supports individuals' interests and provides opportunities for greater involvement in their local communities and within Ohio's larger developmental disabilities community.
