The MVIO Board of Trustees provides direction for the 501 (c) 3 organization. MVIO's Board is made up of representatives from the community, parents of persons with disabilities, and individuals who live in MVIO-owned homes. Two staff members, the General Manager and Account Clerk, are paid by MCBDDS. Therefore, the organization has no direct employees. All of its revenue is directed toward housing.
MVIO has 88 properties, including single-family homes, duplexes and apartment buildings. More 350 individuals live in MVIO-owned properties in a supported living model. The individuals chose where they want to live, with whom, and choose their provider agency. Rent covers the property management services, which include repairs and maintenance, lawn care services and snow removal.
