The Montgomery and Greene County Boards of Developmental Disabilities are sponsoring Career Exploration and Work Experience Boot Camp programs for students ages 14-17 and 18-21 with developmental disabilities who currently reside in Montgomery or Greene counties. Students ages 14-17 who are eligible for services, or those currently seeking eligibility, are invited to participate in Career Exploration camp activities, while students ages 18-21 can choose either Career Exploration camps or build soft skills for employment through Work Experience Boot Camp. All students will participate in social skills development, occupational interest surveys and self-advocacy, and will be shown proper workplace and interview attire. They will gain volunteer experience, and practice completing applications and communicating in the workplace. The camp also features guest speakers and an opportunity to tour local businesses.
