MCBDDS Activities and Events: Postponements and Cancellations

As everyone works together across our state and nation to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus, MCBDDS is canceling or postponing the following events and activities:

  • March 16 DODD #FamilyTalk: The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities #FamilyTalk event is being cancelled by DODD due to the restriction of non-essential travel for state employees. We hope to reschedule this event, and will let you know when that will take place.

  • March 17 Board Meeting: After careful consideration and input from our Board president, we are postponing the Tuesday, March 17 Board meeting. This meeting will be rescheduled for a date in the future.

  • MCBDDS Recreation Activities: All MCBDDS-sponsored Recreation events are cancelled through the first week of April, including dances, bowling league and the Easter Egg Hunt.  Individuals who have registered for MCBDDS events will be notified of their cancellation by phone or email. The only exceptions include activities held at All About Dance and Quest Gymnastics Studio.  The owners of these facilities will decide whether to hold or cancel these events.

  • MCBDDS Self-Advocacy Group Activities: All MCBDDS-sponsored Self-Advocacy group meetings are also postponed until further notice.

  • Parents & Advocates Advisory Council Meetings: The March 30 Parents & Advocates Advisory Council meeting, scheduled to be held at the Woodbourne Library in Centerville, and the April 20 Parents & Advocates Advisory Council meeting, which was to be held at the Ritchey Center in Trotwood, will be cancelled.

  • MCBDDS Residential and Day Services Providers Meeting: The April 7 Residential and Day Services Providers meeting has been postponed until further notice.

  • DD Hall of Fame and Erin Ritchey Awards: The 2020 Developmental Disabilities Hall of Fame and Erin Ritchey Memorial Awards Luncheon Gala, originally scheduled for Friday, April 24, is being postponed. We do plan to reschedule this event, and will let you know when that will take place.

Our priority is ensuring the safety of everyone involved while minimizing Coronavirus exposure for all, and we will keep everyone informed about when programming will be restored.

MCBDDS is prepared and continuing to serve people, even in light of precautionary health measures. Though our buildings are closed to individuals, families, providers and the general public, staff are working remotely, and can be reached between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays by email or phone. Anyone with an after-hours emergency should call 937-457-2765.
