The Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services sponsors a group known as the Parents & Advocates Advisory Council (PAAC), which offers family members, guardians, and advocates of people with developmental disabilities, and providers of services the opportunity to meet and discuss issues that pertain to individuals with developmental disabilities with MCBDDS leadership. Meetings are usually held the third Monday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Kenneth W. Ritchey Administrative Center, 5450 Salem Avenue, Dayton, 45426, though they may be held the second Monday during months where there are federal holidays. Meetings are not typically held in July or November, and may be canceled due to inclement weather or other conflicts. ResCare will host a Pajama Party for adults with developmental disabilities on Tuesday, June 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., 2012 Springboro West Rd, Moraine, 45439. Come in your favorite pajamas and relax with friends. The event will feature Captain Marvel, and popcorn and refreshments will be offered. A Program of The Ohio Technology Project. From tablet and phone apps to in-home remote support systems, this one-day event offers attendees a chance to learn about different kinds of technology available to support people with developmental disabilities who want more independence in their lives. Residents of the Centerville-Washington Park District are invited to participate in the District's 2nd Annual Adapted Action Day on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Oak Grove Park, 1790 E. Social Row Rd., Dayton, 45458. Those differently-abled and their families are invited to come out and enjoy recreational activities for all abilities. Participate in archery, kickball, tee-ball, fishing, sidewalk chalk, biking, and various games and crafts.
