2019 Self-Advocacy Conference

Friday, March 8, 2019

The Montgomery and Greene County Boards of Developmental Disabilities and their self-advocacy groups will host their fourth annual Self-Advocacy Conference Friday, March 8 at the Wright State University Student Union. The event is open to people ages 18 and older with developmental disabilities who want to learn how to better advocate for themselves. Attendees will learn self-advocacy skills they can apply in virtually any situation, as well as safety tips. They will also be introduced to assistive technology, remote supports and online provider rating systems. Presenters include members of the Voices of Greene County and Voices Matter self-advocacy groups. Please note: Individuals requiring staff support will need to bring their own, as staff will not be provided for individuals at this event. Photographers, videographers and news media may be present.
