Recognize and Respond: Police Interactions w/Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Investigative Agents, Providers, SSAs, County Board Staff, Children’s Services Investigators and Mental Health workers are invited to participate in this training, which will discuss the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), how individuals with ASD process information, incidents involving law enforcement, and how partner together to better support individuals. The training will be held at the Ohio Department of Transportation in Columbus. Speakers include: Jon Scowden, Chief Deputy/Delaware County; Tracey Myers, Westerville PD Lieutenant; Kevin Gentner, Columbus Police Officer; and Carolyn Gutowski, Attorney at Clemans, Nelson & Associates.
