The special education system can seem challenging at times, but it doesn't have to be! Join the University of Cincinnati Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities for a workshop that will help you learn: how to successfully work with your child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) team in developing goals and services that meet your child's specific education needs; how to use tools in the IEP process such as evaluations and progress monitoring data to identify your child's needs; the role of additional tools, such as a Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavior Intervention Plan or an Independent Educational Evaluation; and how to effectively communicate your input and/or concerns to the IEP team.
All participants will receive Wrightslaw books.

The Montgomery and Greene County Boards of Developmental Disabilities and their self-advocacy groups, Voices Matter and the Voices of Greene County, will host a Recreation Discovery Day event for individuals with disabilities on Friday, June 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Wright State University Student Union, 3640 Colonel Glenn Highway, Dayton. Attendees can: Learn about different types of recreational activities and opportunities available in the Miami Valley, Meet providers of community recreation.
