The special education system can seem challenging at times, but it doesn't have to be! Join the University of Cincinnati Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities for a workshop that will help you learn:
- How to successfully work with your child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) team in developing goals and services that meet your child's specific education needs;
- How to use tools in the IEP process such as evaluations, progress monitoring data, and more to clearly identify your child's needs and meaningful goals that impact your child's outcomes;
- The role of additional tools, such as a Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavior Intervention Plan or an Independent Educational Evaluation;
- How to effectively communicate your input and/or concerns to the IEP team
Presenters: Ellen Mavriplis, MBA, BA, Director of Inclusion Advocates, Inc., and Carla Loon-Leader, Esq., an expert in Educational Advocacy and Special Education Law.
