February 18, 2021, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Webinar via Zoom
The Center for Disability Empowerment is hosting a panel discussion comprised of African American Mothers and Authors Salina Miller, Patricia Parker, and Charisse (Nikki) Montgomery. Overcoming obstacles to get the best outcome for your child with a disability is about more than lists of tasks to complete; it also requires dealing with the emotions that challenge us. Inspired by their experiences of raising children with disabilities, three African American moms-who are also advocates-share how they deal with both the positive and the difficult emotions involved in the parenting journey. Each chapter of "We Dare To Be Brave" explores the emotional journey in an honest way and lights a path for African American moms to succeed as caregivers and advocates. Register in advance for his meeting: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_wsX3_hvjR0-H3NblPlJRGg. Any questions, contact Debra Petermann at firstname.lastname@example.org or 614-575-8055.
